Senior Full Stack Developer (70% Backend)
About the role
We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer (70% Backend) to join our engineering team and help scale Fitness22’s backend systems that power global fitness apps. You will own backend architecture and implementation, work closely with product and mobile teams, and ensure the platform is reliable, performant and designed for rapid iteration.
Key responsibilities
Design, develop, and deploy backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
Build modern React frontends, contributing reusable UI components and robust web architecture.
Integrate data stores such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB, leveraging ORM patterns for performance and reliability.
Implement scalable infrastructure for reliability, observability, and rapid feature delivery.
Maintain code quality through comprehensive testing, documentation, code reviews, and frequent, safe releases.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Mobile, and Marketing teams in an Agile environment to deliver impactful end-to-end features.
What we’re looking for
5+ years of professional experience with the JavaScript ecosystem (NodeJS, Typescript).
1+ years of building modern React frontends and knowledge of software development best practices.
Hands-on expertise with SQL and NoSQL databases: PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB.
Proficient understanding of APIs, integrations, and scalable backend architecture.
Experience with cloud environment deployments, including AWS/GCP with K8S workloads.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills in English, able to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience preferred but not essential.
